Stardust runs through us all. Every atom in your bones, every breath you take, the stars above, the ground beneath - all born from the fiery hearts of long-dead stars. We're not just inhabitants of Earth, but stardust echoes, woven into the fabric of the universe.
Everything is made up of the five elements in different proportions. The body is also made of the 5 elements in different proportions. 72% water, 12% earth, 6% air, 4% fire and the rest is Ether. The percentages of the first four elements remain similar but the percentage of Ether can be enhanced.
The “Prana” (vital force) in the human body is also directly connected to these 5 elements. The Law of Nature demands these elements to be in balance. I find getting outside is a beautiful way to feel balanced.
I try my best to get our in nature every day and at least 3 times a week a take myself off for an early morning hike. I have the best chats with myself and get much needed reset time for my head. I don't take my phone, just me, nature and my water bottle.
During my hikes I take time to practice gratitude and I love how this changes most days, especially when I hold gratitude for the elements. My connection to them can really shift depending on the weather, my energy, my physical body and also what is going on in my life at that time. I have given a few examples of how I hold gratitude for the elements.
A place to call home.
The beauty of nature around me.
The strength of my body.
A world to experience life.
Connecting to calmness and peace.
Calmness of a still lake.
Playfulness of the ocean.
Rain and waterfall cleansing.
Movement of a river.
Change of landscape when water moves and washes over it.
Sunshine on your skin.
Transformation when fire is added.
Yang energy to alight your power.
Confidence and self belief.
Pushing into the unknown bravely.
Freshness of the breeze on your skin.
Lightness under your wings.
Freedom to expand.
Sounds of the wind, birds, breath.
Guidance of your ancestors and spirit guides.
Trust your inner knowing.
Connection to source.
Oneness as you connect to all.
Close your eyes, think of each element in turn, or even better, get outside and do this. What do you feel when you connect to each one? What are you feeling? What are you grateful for?
