Ceremonial Rapè
Ceremonial Tobacco
Rapéh is a traditional plant medicine used by Indigenous peoples throughout Latin America, including Colombia, Brazil, Peru, and Ecuador. Made from finely powdered tobacco and medicinal plants, it is traditionally administered through the nose and carries a history that stretches back thousands of years across the lands of the Americas, known ancestrally as Abya Yala.
From Alaska to Patagonia, tobacco has been revered as a "Great Teacher" and has accompanied communities in ceremonies, rituals, healing practices, and daily life. For many ancestral cultures, tobacco is not merely a plant, but a sacred ally that supports prayer, clarity, connection, and intentional living.
This particular Rapéh is handcrafted in Bogotá, Colombia, by José Vásquez, a student of ancestral traditions and a practitioner of Indigenous medicines. For over 15 years, he has shared this medicine with respect and dedication, preserving traditional knowledge while supporting the wellbeing of those who work with it.
Crafted with Care
This blend is made using Rubio (Golden) Tobacco, cultivated in the temperate regions of Santander, Colombia. Unlike many rainforest Rapéhs prepared with dark tobacco varieties, Rubio Tobacco offers its own unique character and energetic qualities.
The tobacco is carefully combined with powdered medicinal plants, including:
• Mint
• Eucalyptus
• Rosemary
• Lemon Verbena (Sidrón)
• Basil
• Sage
• Thyme
• Lavender
• Chamomile
• Fennel
These plants are traditionally valued for their ability to support mental clarity, calm the nervous system, and promote balance and focus.
The blend also includes ashes from selected forest tree barks, an important component in traditional preparation that helps bind the ingredients and complete the ancestral formulation.
A Traditional Medicine
The creation of Rapéh is entirely handcrafted and is considered both an art and a traditional healing practice. Every batch is prepared with intention, care, and respect for the wisdom carried through generations.
Traditionally, Rapéh is used to support:
• Mental clarity and focused awareness
• Physical and energetic balance
• Self-reflection and personal consciousness
• A deeper sense of connection with oneself, others, and nature
• Grounding during life's challenges and transitions
A Medicine of Respect
Rapéh is a sacred traditional medicine and should be approached with respect, responsibility, and proper guidance. Each person's experience is unique, and its use should be adapted to individual circumstances and needs.
Honouring the traditions from which it comes helps preserve the integrity of this ancestral practice and the wisdom it continues to carry into the modern world.
Crafted in Colombia. Shared in service to connection, clarity, and remembrance.
A bridge between ancestral wisdom and modern life, prepared with respect for the plants, the traditions, and the communities that continue to carry this sacred knowledge forward.
It can be used as an offering in ritual fires and also inhaled with a Ceremonial Pipe
