One Small Step Towards Living Your Truth

A journey into truth, childhoodmemoriesand the magic within
The festival outside was alive with music, colour and laughter – but inside the packed SpaFest Inspiration Hub marquee at CarFest, Chloe Ward created something entirely different. In stillness, reflection and meditation, she led us on an experience that felt blissful, even with the hum of the festival all around us.
Her 45-minute talk, “Remembering What You Were Born Knowing: Exploring Your Dharma”, was about reconnecting with purpose – and it landed with extraordinary power.
What struck me most was the energy in the room. Her words about Dharma resonated so deeply that you could almost feel a collective heartbeat. At one point, I was moved to tears.
Chloe asked us the question that lingered long after:
“Are you living your truth?”
She then guided us through a beautiful meditation, taking us back to childhood, before inviting us to journal on three simple but profound prompts:
• What can you lose yourself doing?
• As a child, what did you love doing – what did you want to be?
• What do you love doing now?
The answers people shared were beautifully simple: to heal, to connect.

For me, it was a reminder of the joy I find in writing – that timeless flow when I’m completely absorbed in words.
Chloe then brought us back to the practical:
“What small steps could you take?”
Because purpose doesn’t always require a dramatic leap – sometimes it’s simply one intentional step forward.
During the Q&A, someone asked whether your Dharma has to be a ‘job’. Chloe’s response was both eloquent and tender. She explained that purpose can absolutely be something like supporting others, drawing on the image of how it takes a village to raise a child, with each role equally vital.
The session closed with a second meditation. By then, the atmosphere in the marquee was both electric and moving – a full house sitting together in stillness, each of us reconnecting with something deeply personal yet strangely shared.
I left carrying her words with me, grateful for the reminder to pause, reflect and choose truth – and with her parting message in my mind: there’s magic within you.
