Dark Moon - the final phase

A time of being and not doing

The final phase of the lunar cycle, a time to stop and reflect on the past 2 weeks and remind your self of the releasing from the full moon and the clearing and cleansing you invited in.

I usually feel pretty heavy and tired when the dark moon rolls around. It's that part of the lunar cycle we often overlook, and it's only when we're in the middle of emotional chaos (or after it's passed) that we figure out why. The dark moon is like the final cleanse, the big finish of the full moon phase, the last detox or cutting of ties. But interestingly, it doesn't demand any action from us. It just wants us to chill. Sure, we can think about the energy and what we've been through, but there's no need to do anything. It's the time to rest, to pause, to simply exist before we glide into the new moon with all its inspiring vibes and passions.

Dark Moon Journal Prompts

Journaling during this phase can help clarify thoughts, emotions, and desires, allowing you to harness the energy of the dark moon and prepare for to manifest their goals and aspirations. Below are some elaborated journal prompts designed to guide you through this transformative period:

  • What do I need to release in my life right now? Reflect on the aspects of your life that no longer serve you. Consider emotional baggage, negative relationships, or unproductive habits that you wish to let go of.

  • How can I nurture my inner self during this dark moon phase? Explore ways to practice self-care and self-love. Consider activities that bring you joy, peace, and a sense of fulfillment.

  • What lessons have I learned from the past lunar cycle? Take a moment to review the experiences and challenges you faced in the previous month. What insights have you gained, and how can they inform your future actions?

  • How can I cultivate gratitude in my life during this dark moon? Consider the things you are thankful for, even in times of darkness. Practicing gratitude can shift your perspective and enhance your overall well-being.

Embrace this time of darkness as an opportunity for rest and nurture - my little permission slip to slow down.
