'Finding the Tao' - Balancing a busy life

Life - what an incredible crazy ride right?

We all chose to be here, right now, having all the experiences we are having - good, bad and crazy. We don't want to not feel, we didn't come here to play safe, we came here to LIVE, FEEL, EXPERIENCE, GROW, EXPAND. Yet we can't live continuously in any extreme of energy or emotion, this causes mental and/or physical burnout or illness.

This is when we learn to find the Tao - balance. Imagine a pendulum that is hanging still, this is the balance point. In life our pendulum sometimes gets swung out into an extreme emotion or feeling, that is ok, we grow from these experiences, yet we can't stay out there in the 'swing'. We then learn to find what brings us back to the Tao, into the balance. We feel it, we process it, learn and then grow.

In a world that often feels chaotic, the quest for balance can seem elusive. Yet, it's essential for our overall well-being. Each element plays a vital role, and together they create a beautiful dance of yin and yang.

Journaling prompts

Lets break down areas of your life into sections and explore if you feel you are in balance or if you need to find your Tao again.

  • MIND - This relates to work, learning, mental stimulation, mental rest, clarity, intuition

Are you giving your mind food to grow and expand? Maybe a new book or course

Are you allowing time for your mind to rest and clear? Time in nature or peaceful environments

Do you need to reduce screen time or scrolling?

IDEA - Daily Meditation and buy a new book

  • BODY - Connecting to your physical movement, diet (not just food)

Are you nourishing your body with food, drink, environment that is feeding you and not draining you? Look at everything that comes into your body

Have you found a balance between stillness/stretch/rest and activity that works for you? What do you need more of or less of?

IDEA - Move every day - yoga, walk, stretch

  • SOUL - Connecting to your essence, your true self

Do you listen to your instincts? Is your mind quiet enough to hear them?

Are you following your Dharma (souls purpose)?

    What is your Dharma?

How do you feel when you meditate?

IDEA - Closing your eyes and speak to your soul - you never know what you might hear

  • HEART - Inviting a balanced flow of love in and out

Do you give yourself love? How do you love yourself?

Do you allow others to share love with you? Receive compliments or accept help?

When was the last time you did something just for you?

IDEA - Journalling what you are grateful for about you

  • YIN - Supporting and encouraging your feminine energy

Do you nurture yourself as much as nurture others?

What connects you to your female side?

Give yourself permission regularly to rest and not feel guilty

IDEA - Book in a self care day for you

  • YANG - Awakening your fire

Are you standing up for what you want?

Do you voice your ideas and feel proud of who you are?

Is there a part of your life that you need to step up now and take charge?

IDEA - Be bold and make the first step - BELIEVE!

Each step, whether forward or backward, brings me closer to understanding myself. As I continue to cultivate this balance, I hope to inspire others to embark on their own journeys—one where mind, body, soul, and heart coexist in harmony.

Here’s to finding balance in our chaotic lives, embracing the yin and yang of our existence. May we all navigate this beautiful dance with grace and intention.
